A Business plan is a good idea when you are starting any business. That includes the Alpaca Business or the Alpaca Fleece Business.

A plan gives you a place to start, a financial strategy. In addition you are able to set goals and track yourself to see that you are meeting those goals.

It is easy to get lost and just give up on yourself and a business. A good business takes a lot of work and determination to build. There are ups and downs for any business just as there are ups and downs in life.

I am a list maker. If I don't make a list I will miss doing many important things. If you are like me you do not want to mess up your business by forgetting to do something.

Although making a business plan takes time and a bit of work, it is the best list for working your business you will ever have. And if you lose your focus you can always regain it again by reviewing your plan.

Your plan may change along the way, but you can always revise and adjust your plan as needed. The most important thing about having a plan is that it keeps you focused.

If you need to finance any part of your business you will need to have a plan. Financial institutions including the Small Business Association will not finance you without one.

Taxes....what a challenge. We do have income from our business. We also have expenses. How we handle all this?

Until your business is earning a significant income this will not be a problem. We choose to use Turbo Tax home and business. This program is great for helping you know what is safe to deduct and what is not appropriate. It is also very easy to use.

When you start to earn a significant income you will want to start thinking about becoming a Corporation. There are tax breaks with Corporation status that will help with taxes.

But there lies the problem. What is right for you and your situation? Should you be a Sole Proprietorship or Limited Liability Corporation? What are your choices and how do you deal with this issue?
